Employment Application - Faculty

Personal Reference Form

All applicants are asked to provide the Personal  Reference Form to three non-relative references.  These forms should be submitted directly to SBA.

Bible Teacher/Chaplain. The Bible teacher/chaplain will be responsible for teaching all four high school Bible classes and possibly an elective course. Additional responsibilities include planning weekly chapel services, planning our fall Spiritual Life Emphasis Week, and being a part of the planning for our spring MegaTeen weekend retreat. As necessary, serving as a pastoral counselor to the students, faculty/staff or even parents may be required.

Agriscience Teacher/FFA Advisor. This individual will be responsible for teaching an introductory level agriscience course to junior high students as well as all high school agriscience courses (Exploring South Dakota Agriculture, Animal Science, Plant Science, Natural Resources, etc.). This individual will also serve as the advisor the SBA FFA chapter.

Upper Elementary Teacher. This individual will be responsible for teaching a combined classroom with grades 4-6, including all core subject areas. Class size is small--seven students in 2018-19.

Director of Development. The Director of Development is responsible for overseeing SBA's public relations and fundraising. Cultivating existing relationships and developing new ones is a significant portion of the role, and considerable travel is required. Public speaking and representing SBA at conferences and events is also required. The ideal candidate will be familiar with grant writing as well as various methods of communicating with current and potential SBA families and donors, including various social media platforms.

Director of Maintenance. This individual will oversee, and be an active part of, the daily operation and coordination of the maintenance and cleaning of the facilities, grounds and vehicles of Sunshine Bible Academy in order to provide clean, safe, efficient and structurally sound facilities and vehicles that offer students, faculty and staff the best possible atmosphere for meaningful instruction and learning. Between dormitories, multiple classroom buildings, two gyms, a chapel, all of the faculty/staff housing and a vehicle fleet, SBA is almost like a small town. In other words, this position is much more involved than a typical school maintenance position!

Girls' Dorm Supervisor. Boarding is a significant, and important, part of life at SBA. The majority of our high school students are boarding students, meaning the dorm becomes the students' home away from home during the school week (five day boarders) or even for most of the school year (seven day boarders). Dorm supervisors are responsible for the oversight of boarding students outside of the school day. This position requires someone who will develop relationships with the girls in the dorm and also be able to enforce guidelines and rules. Modeling a Christian life is key, and leading devotions is required. Requires working every-other weekend. Housing accommodations also restrict this to a single individual.
